Rebuilding our Communities
Nola 15 - Friday, November 13 The last few days have been very busy from early morning until late at night. Two nights ago we were invited to the home of Dave, the person from Neighborhood Services who has helped to find projects for us. We have worked with him since the past two years and he has a direct ear to the needs of the people most in need. Dave's home is both beautiful and welcoming. A garbage disposal was installed, washer/dryer and stove tested, bathroom cleaned and prepped for paint, … [Read more...]

A new roof has secured the home and stopped additional damage, allowing us to come in to make repairs. We are here to repair damage caused by a … [Read more...]

NOLA 15 - Saturday, November 7 10 years after Hurricane Katrina we are frequently asked: “Why go? Why do you still go down there?” The answers are as varied as the number of volunteers who have traveled to New Orleans to help and the number of families we have worked for. We go because the need is still so great. We go because the damage wasn’t from the hurricane, but was man made. We go because of the injustice inherent in the system for … [Read more...]
