Tomorrow is our Homecoming Service. We will have our traditional Water Communion in which we all bring water from the various places we have visited this summer. Rev. Nathan Detering has asked that we share what the water means to us rather than just mentioning where it comes from.
I love that Nathan has asked us to go deeper than just the origin of the water, but to consider why it is important to us. I know that tomorrow, in front of the microphone I will freeze and not remember all that the water we will share means to us.
It represents the water we nurtured our garden and the gardens of friends and neighbors with, the water that we swam in, fished in, shared dinner by. But what it really represents is the connection between all of the times we spent together in joy, in love, in anger, in the fullness of life.
I can’t wait to be inspired by your words of what the water means to you. Welcome Home!
The service starts at 10:30 – childcare will be available. All Are Welcome!
